Free, Really?
Yes! tXtBlaster and all its features are free. There are no surprises or hidden fees and we never charge for extra groups or keywords. Message/Data Rates Apply depending on your wireless provider.
What does tXtBlaster do with my information? Will I receive SPAM?
tXtBlaster is completely spam-free. We never sell or distribute your information to anyone, and the only txt messages you will receive are those sent from your tXtBlaster group.
In fact, we hate cell phone spam so much that if you do receive a spam txt message from someone, tell us and we will give you tips on how to get them to stop.
How are you able to provide tXtBlaster's service for free?
You will find a short advertisement at the bottom of each txt message sent by a group leader. Ads are placed below each txt message by the tXtBlaster team, and your information is never shared with our advertisers.
Do I need to be worried about the types of ads that appear at the end of txt messages?
We are extremely selective when it comes to our advertisers. Also, we strategically target different ads to different groups, which means you will not receive anything offensive or out of context. If you do receive an ad you feel to be inappropriate or have any questions about ads, please contact us at: advertising@txtblaster.com.
What if I don't want ads in my group's txt messages?
We have a Premium Message Program option for those of you who are willing to pay a small price for ad-free messages. Soon we will have this option available on our website. If you would like more information please contact us at: info@txtblaster.com - and we will set you up with a program that best fits your needs.

Signing up for an account
I signed up for an account, but never received a txt message with my password. What do I do?
You most likely entered the wrong cell phone carrier when you registered with tXtBlaster. To correct this error, txt "help" to BLAST (25278). This corrects your carrier in our system and sends you your password.
Still didn't receive your password? Contact our support team at: support@txtblaster.com or give us a call at: 415.692.3340.
Creating & Joining Groups
Can I create or belong to multiple groups?
Yes! There is not a limit to the number of groups you can create or join. And the best part is we don't charge you a dime!
What are keywords? And how do they work?
A keyword is one word that uniquely identifies your group or sub-group. Each group and subgroup has its own keyword. The keyword is used when new members sign up and identifies your group when sending messages and managing members online. tXtBlaster keywords cannot have spaces and must be between 3 - 15 characters long. When someone wants to join your tXtBlaster group, they txt the group's keyword to BLAST (25278).
How do I join a group?
To join a group TXT the group's Keyword to BLAST (25278). TXT "stop" to stop and "help" for info.
Sending Messages
If I send messages from the tXtBlaster.com website, do they count as messages sent from my cell phone?
Nope! When you send a message from the website, it goes through our short code, BLAST (25278), not your phone. In other words, messages sent from the website count as 0 sent messages from your cell phone. Also, tXtBlaster messages sent to your group from your cell phone count as 1 message sent, regardless of the number of recipients.
Why do I send/receive my tXtBlaster messages from BLAST (25278)?
25278 is our short code - the number that tells your cell phone carrier you're using our service. 25278 spells "BLAST" on your phone's keypad. Clever? We think so.
How do I send txt messages to my group from my cell phone?
Send a message in 2 quick steps!
- Grab your cell phone and type a txt message (make sure it's no more than 100 characters long, or you'll get cut off).
- Send your txt message to our short code, BLAST (25278).
Note: If you have multiple tXtBlaster groups or sub-groups, tXtBlaster may not know where to send your message. In this case, you will receive a message asking which group you would like your message sent to.
tXtBlaster Features
What is an Auto-Responder?
An Auto-Responder is a txt message created and saved to the tXtBlaster site by an Administrator. Anyone can access this message at any time by txting the Auto-Responder's keyword to BLAST (25278). You can edit or change the Auto-Responder anytime on the website.
What are Subgroups and how do they work?
Subgroups allow you to organize your tXtBlaster group members into smaller groups. Like groups, subgroups have their own unique keyword, and messages can be sent from the website or cell phone. Members can be part of multiple subgroups.
What is an Administrator?
An Administrator is a member of a tXtBlaster group, who manages the entire group.
When someone creates a tXtBlaster group, they are automatically a group administrator. There can be multiple administrators for each group. An Administrator can allow other members full Administrative rights or just the ability to send group txt messages.
Adding and Managing Group Members
What is a Group Member?
A Group Member is someone who joins a person's tXtBlaster group by txting the group's keyword to BLAST (25278). Group Members receive txt messages from their group administrators and from members with publishing permissions. They can also reply to txt messages they receive, and group administrators can give them admin permissions at anytime.
How do I become a member of someone's tXtBlaster group?
Send a txt with the group's keyword to BLAST (25278).
How do I stop receiving messages from my tXtBlaster group?
Stopping is just as easy as starting. Simply txt "STOP" to BLAST (25278).
If you are a member of multiple groups you will be able to select the group(s) from which you would like to stop receiving messages.
What kinds of privacy options do groups have?
Your group's privacy is important to us - as is your group's ability to make sure only the people you want to receive your messages are getting them. To view or change your group's privacy options, go to "Group Settings". There are 3 privacy options:
Public Group (default): A Public Group is a group anyone can join if they know the group's keyword. To join, they txt the keyword to BLAST (25278).
Admin Approval Group: When someone tries to join an Admin Approval Group, an Administrator must approve them before they can become a member. When the person txts the keyword to BLAST (25278) their name will appear in the "Add Members" section of the group under "Pending".
Password Protected Group: Only those who know the group's keyword AND password can join a Password Protected Group. The password is created by a group Administrator.
I just made one of my members an Administrator of my group. How do they log in to the website if they've never been before?
When someone comes to the website for the first time, whether they're already a member of a group or not, they must register. Once they register, they will be able to view all the groups they are a member of, and they can create and join new groups as well.
When I make a member an Administrator of my group, or give them publishing permissions, do they have to log in to start sending messages from their cell phone?
Once someone is in is granted publishing permissions or is made an Administrator, they can immediately start sending messages from their phone without registering on the website.
